Ebtech Glasshouse Systems complete turnkey Glasshouse facilities at Stewarts Nurseries during Covid
In 2020 under extremally difficult Covid restrictions, Ebtech Glasshouse Systems Ltd, based in East Yorkshire built a new turnkey glasshouse facility at the site of Stewarts Garden Centre, near Wimborne in Dorset.
The used glasshouse is 6,732m² overall, consisting of four separate areas plus a plant room.
The first area is clad in sandwich panels c/w roof light panels and side wall windows, this area will have a separately internally clad small education classroom with the remaining area used for potting and machinery equipment, which has a clear span of 12.80m x 64.0m long.
The growing areas, the first of which is connected to the work area, consist of 9.60m bay widths, 4.0m section lengths and a 4.0m post height.
Within each zone are a series of container benches, each moveable between zones via a transport line running along two paths in every zone and through motorised hatches in the dividing walls.
Each hatch has a personnel door alongside for staff access between zones.
All the benches have ebb & flood tray tops with a complete irrigation and drainage system running into the reservoir. Manual watering points have also been added for additional use throughout each zone.
Covering each growing zone is a thermal screen, cloth type Harmony 5747 FR to provide good shade and thermal requirements.
The screen system is operated on a wire driven operation.
The final area of the glasshouse is the plant room, which measures 9.60m wide x 12.0m long and clad in sandwich panelling to house the irrigation control rig, ground source heat pump, mixing valves and general electrical control equipment.
An Hotraco climate control system was provided c/w remote access facility to enable the client to keep an eye on his conditions should he be away from site.
Our sister company Ebtech Energy Systems have installed a piped heating system throughout each zone with underfloor heating being added into the education classroom.
All the heating will be fed from a ground source heat pump, also supplied and installed by Ebtech Energy Systems.
In all Ebtech have supplied a complete turnkey project for our client which meets all his requirements and demands.
