With more than 15,000 pledges, Hozelock’s Plant A Pot campaign which encourages people to plant bee friendly plants has really helped to get Britain buzzing. However, Hozelock is keen that gardeners don’t rest on their laurels and keep their good work going as there is still a long way to go.

Bees have been disappearing at an alarming rate* and Hozelock’s Plant A Pot campaign continues to be a call to action for everyone to play their part – and help the environment and boost food supplies, now and for generations to come.  It is estimated that a third of all the food we eat is dependent on insect pollination* including coffee, chocolate and many fruits and vegetables.
 

Gardeners who pledge to Plant A Pot are in with the chance of winning over £5,000 worth of prizes – including a holiday to  the 13 Bees hotel in France as well as tickets to the 2019 RHS Chelsea Flower Show!**  For its part, Hozelock has already donated over £20,000 to the Flowers for Bees charity to help them find new ways to protect bees through their research, development, training and education programmes.

One of the biggest factors in the decline of bees has been the lack of food for them nationwide. Gardeners can tackle that problem simply by planting up a container with bee-friendly plants and seeds, and keeping it watered and healthy throughout the foraging season.
