Information on the new slug pellet ban and how to tackle those pesky slugs in your garden. Recently the story of slug pellets being banned in the UK has been doing the rounds. While there certainly is a story around slug pellets, it’s not quite so simple. In fact, there is only one specific ingredient that used to be quite common in slug pellets, known as metaldehyde, an active ingredient we stopped using at Evergreen Garden Care in 2015 which has been made illegal.

Sustainable plant pot designer, elho, has joined forces with the UK’s leading garden centre retailer, Dobbies, to grant gardeners a new way of minimising their plastic waste and impact on the planet.
As part of the partnership, elho’s innovative recycling bins have been installed across 69 of Dobbies’ garden centres, and gardeners are encouraged to bring their old plastic plant pots and seed trays to be recycled in Dobbies’ stores.

THE GARDEN Centre Association’s (GCA) 56th annual conference due to take place at the end of this month has been postponed as a result of the ongoing spread of Omicron (January 2022).
The organisation’s executive committee has taken the decision to defer the event based on safety concerns and made the announcement to members this morning (January 10).
